Leona E. Konfrst
Leona E. Konfrst, age 89, of Yankton, South Dakota, died Monday, November 28, 2011, at Prairie Homes Assisted Living Center in Yankton.
In accordance with Leona's wishes, her ashes will be spread at the Bonesteel Cemetery in Bonesteel, South Dakota. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Yankton.
Leona was born November 30, 1921, in Jamison, Nebraska, to Henry and Ella (Gentile) Camin. During her childhood, the family moved to Bonesteel, South Dakota. As an adult, Leona moved to Pierre, South Dakota and worked as a housekeeper at various hotels. She lived in Pierre for 45 years before moving to Yankton, South Dakota. Her final years were spent at Prairie Homes Assisted Living Center in Yankton.
Survivors include her two daughters: Carolyn (Lyle) Nelson of Mission Hill, South Dakota and Crystal Konfrst of Yankton; one grandchild; sister, Bertha Halverson of Billings, Montana; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; and two sisters.

Leon will be greatly missed, I had the priviledge of taking care of her in her final years, and it was a honor. May the good Lord bless and keep her.

We are sorry about your mom. We remember how much she helped us at our apartment house at 1014 Cedar St. She would call and tell us when light bulbs were burned out in the building etc. We really appreciated how she looked after the apt. house. We sold that building a few years ago.
