Betty Lou was born on June 22, 1932 in Coleridge, Nebraska to Edward W. and Dora M. (Dirks) Lorang. She grew up in the Coleridge area and graduated from Coleridge High School. Betty got married to Cecil Lloyd Andresen on May 26, 1950 in Coleridge. They first lived and farmed three miles west and two miles NE of Hartington near Paragon and then moved to the “homeplace” in 1951. Betty always raised a big garden to provide for her family each year. She was a full-time housewife/housekeeper and helped Cecil with everything on the farm – raising chickens, hogs, cattle, milking cows, harvesting, and canning. She was always providing three meals a day plus snacks a couple times a day for Cecil and their family while working on the farm. After Cecil’s death in 2011 Betty moved into Hartington.

Betty had a strong faith and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aide group. She also helped with the Lutheran Fair Stand at the Cedar County Fair. Betty and Cecil were able to take their camper to various places in the States and took a few vacations to Maine, Florida, and Hawaii, then wintering in Texas. Betty was an excellent seamstress and sewed her children’s cloths. She and Cecil loved to go square dancing and card parties with their neighbors. They enjoyed the local rodeos and tractor pulls. Betty always found time to enjoy a good card game with her grandchildren. Many lasting memories were made on those days.

Betty is survived by her four children, Roger (Marlene) Andresen of Hartington, Ronald “Tex” Andresen of Coleridge, Roxanne Andresen of Gillette, WY, Rebecca Goold of North Platte; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one sister Marvel Benson of Coleridge.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Cecil on December 10, 2011 at the age of 86 years; and a brother Kenneth Lorang.
