Toney Earl Casey, age 71, of Yankton, South Dakota, died Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Avera Majestic Bluffs Hospice House in Yankton, South Dakota.
A memorial service will be 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton, South Dakota. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service on Thursday at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home.
Toney Earl Casey was born December 29, 1954, in Detroit, Michigan, to John and Leonora (Swango) Casey. After finishing his schooling, Toney joined the United States Army and served his country during the Vietnam War. Following his discharge, Toney started his own company, TC & Sons and was a lineman all over the country. He married Shelley Schumacher on March 4, 2017 and later that year retired from his company. Toney was a funny, hardworking man who was always joking around. He enjoyed fishing, boating, listening to music, and karaoke. He loved football and spending time with his dog, Kota.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Avera Majestic Bluffs Hospice House for their wonderful care hey gave to Toney in his final days.
Survivors include his wife, Shelley Casey of Yankton, South Dakota; nine children: Toney (Marvelle) Casey Jr., John Casey, Matt Casey, Stefanie (Jeffery) Donnell, Beth Casey Hall, Josh Casey, Sara Zura, Joseph (Lacey) Zura and Rhiamon Zura; 21 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and one sister, Linda Cruz.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Judith Casey, Nola McClintock, Debra Etheridge and John Casey.
