Verna Stimpson Hindsman, age 70, of Atlanta, Texas and formerly of Yankton, South Dakota, died Monday, January 25, 2010 at Atlanta Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services are 2:00 PM, on Friday, January 29, 2010 at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton with Reverend Steve Weispfennig officiating. Burial will be in the Yankton Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to the services on Friday.

Verna was born September 23, 1939 in Grants Pass, Oregon to Christian and Erna (Westergaard) Paulsen. Verna was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Atlanta, Texas. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Verna is survived by her mother, Erna E. Cook of Yankton; 2 sons, Kenneth E. (Penny) Stimpson, Jr. of Dawson, Texas and Timothy R. (Sharon) Hindsman of Hardyville, Kentucky; 2 daughters, Teresa (Roger) Conn of Linden, Texas and Donna (Scott) Hendrix of Atlanta, Texas; a brother, Jens Paulsen of Hurley, South Dakota; 2 sisters, Mary Doering of Yankton and Joyce Jensen of Crooks, South Dakota; the father of her children, Richard Hindsman of McLeod, Texas; 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Verna was preceded in death by her father, Christian Paulsen; a sister, Carla Byrd; and her first husband, Kenneth E. Stimpson, Sr.
