Sharon and family, Your dear Mother and Grandma will be missed by so many, she was one of the most remarkable ladies I have known, and God has been so good to her and she in turn lived her life as a good Christian and let it show to all who came her way in this life. Her journey has ended and cherish all the wonderful memories she has made for you all thru the years. She loved her family and was always so proud of you all.

Wanted to come to her service, but not feeling the best right now and have to be careful not to get around big crowds for fear of the flu or whatever.

Will be thinking of you all and keeping you in my prayers. You have always been so good to your Mom Sharon and this is something you will never regret, your good like her dear.

In Friendship and Sympathy, Gloria Aune Lippert

I am so blessed that you share your wonderful family with me. I love all the stories of your Mom and all the laughs we have in remembrance of her amazing life. Love you all!

To Sharon, Kristi, Jay,

Thank you for sharing Irene with us. She made a profound influence on me and I am going to try to emulate her more. One of my best memories is when my mom and Dad and I used to go trick or treating and we would come to see Clifford and Irene. I remember her dogs and the coffee percolating in the pot and the sandwiches she made. They were the best. If our lives could only be this simple again.

I just wanted to say that it is not the supermodels, heroes , Hollywood people or company executives that matter in our lives. It is the ordinary everyday people like Irene , farmer and farm wife that make our lives so much better. I am sorry I could not be there but I plan to come see Mom in March and I will try to reach you. God Bless you all. Irene is with Jesus and Clifford and my Dad having a good laugh and joking!

Dear Sharon:

I just read of dear Irene's passing and I am so sorry, I know she will be greatly missed by everyone. It was my honor to take care of such a lovely lady. I will never forget her smile, her witty sense of humor, and her words of wisdom.

Thinking of you,
Daphne

Dear Sharon & Family,

My grandparents, Hank & Gladys Kogel, were neighbors and friends of your parents. We want to send our deepest sympathy to you. Our memories of the farm always include your parents, too. They were terrific people!

Love and Prayers,
The Kogel-Hanson Family

Dear Sharon & family, what a wonderful mother to all of us, I can still taste the wonderful cakes with thick frosting we use to share after school. I have thought of your mother often and how very kind she was to us. It's true, you can take the girl away from the farm but you can't take the farm from the girl, I still have a large garden. You can be so thankful for a mother like yours. JoAnn Kogel

Sharon, so sorry to hear of your loss. Mom (Evelyn Sorensen) so enjoyed your Mom's company for so many years.

Joan Lemer

Hi Sharon and family,

I am so sorry that I was not able to make it to the prayer service or funeral, but I was thinking of her a lot last week. I cannot tell you how excited I was to know that Irene was coming to my wedding last May. I have pictures of both of you at the wedding... walking to your seat and talking to the Sarah, Megan, Kaitlynn, and Jefferey. I thought it was so neat to have her there.

I remember before church she would ask me about school, tell me she was proud of me, and most of all that she believed in me. I cannot tell you how much that meant to me through the years.

I also remember trick or treating at her house and it was always so much fun to go and talk with her and show her the costume I had for that year.

Your mother was a wonderful person to be around. She never let anything get her down, speak her own mind, and do whatever she thought was best. She was an inspiration for many in the community, and she surely left an impression on me that I will not forget. If only there were more people like her in this world.

~Ashley (Mellem) Reints
