Pallbearers are Guy Bakker, Ken Guenther, Ken Wiedenfeld, Jerry Wiedenfeld, Jerry Sperry and Phillip Lorenson.

Jeff was born December 9, 1926 in Purcell, Oklahoma to Edward and Bettie (Howeth) Bynum. His mother died while giving birth to him, so he was raised by his aunt and uncle in Oklahoma. When he was 15 years old, he moved to California where he lived with one of his brothers. He would attend school for two hours in the morning and then go to work at the shipyards. In 1945, Jeff joined the United States Army and was stationed in Panama during World War II. In the early 1950's, he moved to the Hudson and Canton area where he drove truck for several different companies. In 1968, Jeff moved to Yankton and starting working for Morgen Manufacturing. On January 17, 1970, he married Elaine Wiedenfeld in Vermillion, South Dakota. Jeff retired from Morgen's in January of 1989 and then drove the Yankton Senior Citizens bus for the next 12 years. Jeff was a member of the Yankton VFW and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a great dancer and also enjoyed pheasant hunting, fishing, camping and bowling. Jeff was an avid sports fan and loved the Minnesota Twins, Vikings and Oklahoma Sooners. He also coached little league baseball when his kids were young. Jeff just enjoyed life. He loved being around his friends and loved his family.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Elaine Bynum of Yankton; four children: Peggy Warden of Chugiak, AK, Sheila (Steve) Lambert of Alto, NM, Eric (Jennifer) Bynum of Canistota, SD and Jason Bynum of Yankton; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a half sister, Mary Ellen Nottnagel of Oklahoma; and many nieces and nephews.

Jeff was preceded his death by his parents; grandson, Todd Warden; seven brothers: Guy, Charlie, Oscar, Louis, Clifford, Herbert and Cleo Bynum; three sisters: Ellie Brown, Jesse Hicks and Annabelle McBride; half brother, E.J. Bynum; a half sister, Evelyn Bynum; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Jackie Wiedenfeld; and a nephew, William "Bill" Wiedenfeld.
