Cecil L. Andresen, age 86 of Hartington, Nebraska, died on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at his residence.

Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at 10:30 am at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hartington with Rev. Justin Wiese officiating. Burial will be in the Hartington City Cemetery with military honors provided by the Wynot American Legion Post 31. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm at the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington. Honorary Pallbearers will be his great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Angela Clark, Jennifer Boell, Crystal Andresen, Teri Retzlaff, Joshua Vath, Marvin DeBlauw and Nathaniel Andresen.

Cecil was born on August 19, 1925 at Ainsworth, Nebraska to August E. and Sylvia Mae (Francisco) Andresen. He spent his early years moving to various communities with his family. They moved to a farm east of Hartington in 1939 and he attended District 5 Waucapona School. He served in the U.S. Air Force from June 21, 1945 to May 3, 1946. Cecil married Betty Lorang on May 26, 1950 at her parent's farm near Coleridge, Nebraska and they celebrated 61 years of marriage. In 1953 they moved to their present farm northeast of Hartington. For the past 12 years they wintered in Texas.

Cecil was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hartington and the Wynot American Legion Post 31. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and playing cards.

Cecil is survived by his wife, Betty of Hartington; 4 children, Roger and Marlene Andresen of Hartington; Ronald "Tex" Andresen of Omaha, Nebraska; Roxanne Andresen of Gillette, Wyoming; Rebecca Goold of North Platte, Nebraska; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Albert, Edward and a twin brother, Ceasar Andresen and one sister, Alma Mae Johnson.
