Lois L. Anderson, age 89 of Hartington, Nebraska died on Sunday, October 9, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Hartington.

Funeral Services will be on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hartington with the Katherine Russell officiating. Burial will be at the Obert Cemetery in Obert, Nebraska. Visitation will be on Saturday at church from 12:00 p.m. until service time. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Tommy Brennan, Todd Brennan, Adam Anderson, Cody Anderson, Travis Anderson, Brian Anderson, and Alan Anderson. Honorary Pallbearers will be her granddaughters, Sherry Anderson, Shelley Curtis, and Breana Marlett.

Lois Lucille Anderson was born on March 20, 1922 in Crofton, Nebraska to Charles and Lillian (Balentine) Burrus. She grew up in Knox and Cedar County. Lois married Axel Carlton "Tubby" Anderson on December 24, 1944 in Hartington, NE. She and Tubby farmed east of Hartington from 1945-1985. Axel "Tubby" died on April 8, 1983 at the Veteran's Hospital in Omaha at the age of 63 years. Lois moved into Hartington in 1985 and has been a resident of the Golden Living Assisted Living in Hartington since January 2005.

Lois belonged to the Trinity Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aide group. She was a member of the Hartington VFW Auxiliary and loved to square dance.

Lois is survived by three children and their spouses, Sandy and John Berger of Newcastle, NE; Andy and Roz Anderson of Salina, KS; Randy and Gloria Anderson of Wynot, NE; 10 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; two sisters Edith Rohde of Randolph, NE and Dorothy (Art) Peterson of Sheldon, IA; sister-in-law Dorothy Gobel of Yankton, SD; step-brother Tom Burrus of Washington.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Axel; four brothers Jim Gobel, Willard, Robert, and Earl Burrus; two sisters Myra Gronlund and Betty Konken.
