Cyrus enjoyed ranching and farming with brothers on the Mischke Hereford Ranch where they raised cattle and bred registered Hereford bulls. He loved the land and enjoyed being outside fishing and hunting, especially with his sons in Wyoming. Later in life, he enjoyed watching and feeding the birds outside his window. Cyrus served on the Frankfort School Board and Cemetery Board. He was a 4-H leader and a member of the Crofton American Legion Post No. 128. Lisa and Mischke family members, I am very sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Deb Rasmussen

Hearing of the passing of your father brought with it a feeling of deep sadness.

May your fond memories of all the precious times spent with your father bring you a small ray of comfort--as no words can express the emptiness felt by your loss.

If I were so lucky to have had a second set of parents, it would have been Cy and Helen.

I remember walking to the barn on your farm with my father, Curtis, to check out Cy's prize winning Herefords that Steve and David were taking to the Knox County Fair.

I remember the identical dresses Helen sewed for Beverly and me.

I remember when Lisa was born. I was so envious wanting a new baby.

These are but a few small glimpses of my childhood, that because of your family, I hold million dollar memories.

Family obligations prohibit my attending your father's farewell, but your family will be remembered in my thoughts and prayers.

Partricia (Parsons) Dahlerup

Helen and family,

My sympathy to all of you. Going to your farm or being together at Grandma Jensen's will forever be a memory of mine. I'll never forget when you built your home and how lovely I thought it was, I was so grateful that you had a nice warm home (with plumbing, no less!).

May God richly bless all of your memories and be forever with you to comfort you in the loss of your husband of so many years and your father.

Arlene Drew

On behalf of our family I want to express our extreme sympathes on Cy's passing. He was a great man that had a zest for living. I am blessed to have had the opportunity to have known him.

We are so sorry about Cy's passing , but like you all, I'm sure, comforted that he no longer suffers. Helen, know you're always in our thoughts and prayers with wishes that the adjustments you will now make can be endured as smoothly as possible.

Special toughts go out to Dave as you've dealt with so much in the past few years. We are SO sorry!

So sorry to hear of your loss. With Deepest Sympathy!

I just learned of Cy's passing and I want to send my sympathy to each one of the family members and especially to you Helen. At this moment, I miss the smile of both you and Cy and remember your kind and supportive voices.

I wanted to share that the Mischke Ranch came up in a conversation I had with some gentlemen while I was living in Indiana several years ago. I was very proud to say I not only knew of the Ranch but also shared with them some personal fond memories as family. Thank you for the wonderful memories.

Dianne Wilken Goetsch
