Wyman E. Wisti

Wyman E. Wisti, age 92, of Yankton, South Dakota, died Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at Avera Sister James Care Center in Yankton. No local service will be held. Arrangements are pending with the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Yankton. Wyman E. Wisti was born July 19, 1925, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Andrew Oscar and Nora (Amundson) Wisti. His family moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota where Wyman grew up and attended school. He enlisted into the United States Navy during World War II and became a Navy Pilot. After the war he attended the University of Minnesota graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business in 1949. He married Renoir Jeanne Seidel on December 15, 1951. Wyman worked for Star Machine and Tool Company, the family business, in Minneapolis. Wyman began working in sales after leaving the family business which he continued for many years. After retiring he moved to Wisconsin and in 2002 moved to Yankton, South Dakota. Wyman loved music and singing and would perform anywhere he could. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and being outdoors. He was a free spirit and will always be remembered for his sense of humor, his love of people, and his love for the Minnesota Vikings. Survivors include his two children, Toni (Constantine) Danilevsky of New York, New York and Michael Wisti of Concord, California; three grandchildren: Corina, Daniel and Andrea Wisti; four great grandchildren: Frederick, Joaquin, Elroy and Carly; and companion, Marge Novak.
