William “Bill” Jensen was born August 9, 1965, in Yankton, South Dakota, to Keith and Joann (Pond) Jensen Sr. He grew up and attended school in Yankton and graduated from Yankton High School in 1984. During his high school years, he loved playing football and was an All-State lineman for three years. He was recruited to play football for Yankton College but it unfortunately closed before Bill could attend. He married Michelle Hoefs in 1987 and to this union three children were born: Joshua, Brittany and Jeremiah. Bill began working at the Human Services Center and then became a supervisor at Gehl in Yankton which later became Manitou. Bill’s health later started to decline and forced him to stop working due to cirrhosis of the liver, which he battled for over ten years.
Bill loved fishing, especially walleye. He also enjoyed gardening, making salsa, and playing video games. He had a great sense of humor and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his three children: Joshua (Nicole) Jensen of Yankton, South Dakota; Brittany (Levi) Kludt of Lesterville, South Dakota; and Jeremiah (Lindsay) Jensen of Yankton; nine grandchildren: Dylan, Vincent, Harper, Nora, Jaxxen, Noah, Josie, Nox and Sydney; great grandchild, Theodore Ranweiler; six siblings: Keith Jensen Jr, Cindy Haltiner, Becky (Jim) Snook, Mark Jensen, Brian (Dawn) Jensen, and Erica (Brian) Salts; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Keith and Joann Jensen Sr. and his sister, Sheryl Fenton.
