Thomas Allen Becker

Thomas A. Becker, age 72 of Lincoln, Nebraska and formerly of St. Helena, Nebraska died after a short illness in Lincoln, NE. He is the son of Jerome and Mildred Becker.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family (Immaculate Conception) Catholic Church in St. Helena, Nebraska with the Rev. Jim Keiter officiating. Burial of his cremated remains will be at the Immaculate Conception cemetery in rural St. Helena. The family will receive relatives and friends one hour prior to services on Saturday. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington.

Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews and nieces, Travis Becker, Todd Becker, Curt Becker, Kylie Krepel, Jason Becker, Adam Becker and Sara Mills.

Tom was born on February 11, 1953 to Jerome and Mildred (Schulte) Becker. He grew up on a farm in the St. Helena area and graduated from Wynot High School in 1971. Tom received a bachelor of science in business administration with an emphasis in accounting from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in 1977. Upon graduation, he worked seven years for the Nebraska Department of Revenue budget office. In 1985, he joined the University of Nebraska and worked there for 32 years in the budget office and for the College of Education and Human Sciences. He lived in Lincoln until his death.

Tom was a member of a local Ski Club and loved to go skiing in Colorado; was an avid marathon runner in his early years. He enjoyed traveling to New Zealand and scuba diving in the Caribbean. He also enjoyed gardening, raising beets, tomatoes, and other vegetables and LOVED going to Nebraska Cornhusker football games!! GBR!!

Tom is survived by his 6 brothers and sisters and their spouses, Tim Becker (Mary) of Yankton; Keith Becker (Carol) of Emerson, NE; Kevin Becker, Shirley (Joe) Zimmerman and Cindy Becker all of St. Helena, Louise Vale (Paul) of Ft. Collins, CO; 7 nieces and nephews, Travis Becker (Krista), Todd Becker (Stacie), Curt Becker (Tiff), Kylie Krepel (Chris), Jason Becker (Daisy), Sara Mills (Kevin), and Adam Becker (Samantha).

He was preceded in death by his parents Jerome and Mildred Becker.
