Theodore "Ted" F. Trautt

Theodore “Ted” F. Trautt, age 62, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, March 27, 2026, at the Avera Majestic Bluffs Hospice House in Yankton, South Dakota.

A private burial will take place at the Yankton City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Yankton.

Ted was born on April 16, 1963, in Yankton, South Dakota, to Terry Trautt and Purcelle (Anderson) Trautt and was a lifelong resident of Yankton. After graduating from Yankton High School in 1981, he worked for Sunshine Food Market for 15 years followed by another 15 years at Karl’s TV and Appliance. A dedicated and hard worker, Ted took pride in his work.

Ted had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life: reading, listening to classic rock music, and hunting with his close friends. He was a kind soul who was ready to help however and whenever he could.

Ted is survived by his mother, Purcelle Lokken who resides at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Tyndall, SD; his sister, Mary Jane (Kevin) Dolphin and family; and brothers, Timothy and Robert Trautt.

Ted was preceded in death by his father, Terry Trautt.
