Tahcawin Corbett

May 23, 1968 — August 8, 2025

Tabor

Tahcawin Corbett, age 57, of Tabor, South Dakota, died Friday, August 8, 2025, at her home in Tabor.

A memorial service will be 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Calvary Baptist Church in Yankton, South Dakota, with Reverend Errin Mulberry officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton, South Dakota.

Tahcawin Corbett was born May 23, 1968, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Tashunka and Ellen Witko. Her family moved to San Bernadino, California, and when Tahcawin was four years old she was diagnosed with childhood leukemia. She overcame her illness and was cured when she was 15, but it left Tahcawin with lasting health concerns. She graduated from Fontana High School in Fontana, California and worked various jobs throughout her life. She married Robert Corbett on February 14, 2004, in San Bernadino and later moved to Yankton, South Dakota in 2011.

Tahcawin enjoyed crocheting, coloring by number, playing games, and loved purple, but most importantly, Tahcawin loved the Lord. She spent many hours praising Jesus, listening to K-LOVE and the bible, and attending bible studies at Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Corbett of Tabor; two sons: Adam and Johnathan Corbett of Tabor; mother, Ellen Woodard of McLaughlin, South Dakota; two sisters: Teionie Witko of Riverside, California and Tawa Witko of McLaughlin, South Dakota; and brother, Daniel Witko of Tea, South Dakota.

She was preceded in death by her father, Tashunka Witko.
