Steven E. Martindale, age 67 of Concord, Nebraska died on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at the Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa. A private family funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at 10:30 am at the Concordia Lutheran Church in Concord, NE with Reverend Deb Valentine officiating. A private family burial will be in the Concord Cemetery. Visitation for the public will be on Monday, at church, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services on Tuesday. Face coverings will be required at church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Laurel, NE. Pallbearers will be Mitchell Leise, Dayson Tucker, Tyler Tucker, Mike Johnson, Aaron Dietrich, and Scott Huetig. Steven Edson Martindale was born on February 26, 1953 in Wakefield, NE to Gerald “Jerry” and Oral Gail (Hughes) Martindale. He grew up in Concord NE and graduated from Laurel-Concord High School in 1971. On July 14, 1972, Steven married Judy Faye Wacker in Wayne, NE. He worked as a mechanic and owned Steve’s Repair in Concord. He also was an owner/operator for over 30 years and was still actively driving. Steve was a volunteer fireman in Concord, served as the fire chief, and was a past member of the Concord Village Board. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and he loved to fix and build things. Steve was very talented and could fix or build almost anything. He enjoyed playing cards, going to coffee, and being involved with his grandchildren’s activities. Steven also had a love for his dog, Brewsky. Steve is survived by his wife, Judy Martindale of Concord, NE; three children, Amber Martindale and boyfriend Jess Thompson of Wayne, NE, Dane Martindale and fiancé Becca Koch of Lincoln, NE, Katie Tucker of Sioux City, IA;  Les Tucker of Sioux City, IA;  three grandchildren, Mitchell Leise, Dayson Tucker, and Tyler Tucker; sister, Linda “Jo” (Herman) Utecht of Hudson, CO; brother, James (Linda) Martindale of Lincoln, NE; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Mark Martindale.
