Sandy Trobaugh age 55 of South Sioux City, Nebraska and formerly of Hartington, NE died on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at St. Lukes Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa due to complication of MS.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington, NE with the Rev. Owen Korte officiating. Burial of her cremated remains will be at St. Michael’s cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington.
Sandra Kay was born on March 18, 1967 in Yankton, SD to Larry Dean and Kathy R. (Becker) Lauer. She grew up in Hartington and attended school there until the family moved to Sioux City, Iowa in 1972. Sandy graduated from Heelan High School. After high school, Sandy began working for MCI in Sioux City as a telemarketer. Sandy stopped working about 10 years ago when she found out she had MS.
Sandy is survived by her three children – Michael Trobaugh and (Heather McCoy) of Omaha, NE, Daniel (Candace) Trobaugh of Hartington, Amanda (Miguel) Salazar of Sioux City, Iowa; three grandchildren Koy, Bowen, and Knox Trobaugh, and one on the way; parents Larry (Kathy) Lauer of Hartington; sister Anne Sullivan (Marcus Tiebbe) of Sioux City, IA; a brother Steven Lauer of Hartington; nine nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother Michael Lauer, and a sister Patricia Gaul.
