In 1954, he married Carol Kjonegaard in Volin and they were the parents of two daughters: Connie and Cheryl. In his retirement years his summers were occupied with tending over 50 rhubarb plants and selling his harvest. Survivors include his two daughters: Connie (Brian) Sharp of Pinole, California and Cheryl Maguire of Chico, California; two grandsons: Jason and Jeremy Maguire and their families of California; Three sisters: Darlene (Bob) South of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; JoAnn( Jim) Fridgen of Alexandria, Minnesota; and Kathleen Gorsett of Volin, South Dakota; special friend, Betty Herrboldt of Yankton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
