Roger Arden Crandall, age 75 of Norfolk, Nebraska died on Friday, November 27, 2020 at his residence. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington with the Rev. Owen Korte officiating.  Burial will be at St. Michael’s cemetery in Hartington.  Visitation will be on Tuesday, at church from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m.  Face masks and social distancing are required for the visitation and funeral.  You may watch a live stream of the funeral at www.facebook.com/WintzRay. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington. Pallbearers will be Marty Kramer, Zach Kramer, Jeff Sudbeck, and Scott DePledge. Roger Arden was born on August 11, 1945 in Hartington, Nebraska to Arden Leonard and Elizabeth Cecelia (Bracht) Crandall.  He attended Hartington Public School. Roger moved to Norfolk in 1971 where he worked for Prengers Restaurant. Roger then worked for Mary’s Café from 1981 until after 1997. He then moved to Crofton for a short time while his mother was alive. Roger moved back to Norfolk where he had more room to ride his bike, and to visit his favorite stores and restaurants. Roger was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norfolk.  He loved to do oil paintings and woodworking.  He painted a lot of ceramics.  Roger had a very keen eye for knowing a cars make, model, and year. He rode his bike all over Norfolk and then rode an electric bike.  He loved watching various TV shows. Roger collected various ceramic animals and had an extensive collection of model cars. Roger is survived by his two sisters Karen (Keith) Kool of Crofton, NE, Jeanie (Gordon) Johnson of Crofton, five nieces, one nephew, one half niece. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Judy and Kathy Crandall; a brother Joseph Crandall; half-sister Joyce (William) Priebnow; two nieces; and one half niece.
