Robert “Robbie” Cressy, age 44, of Dallas, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at his residence. A memorial service is 10:30 AM, on December 28, 2018 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Yankton with Reverend Levi Willms officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Yankton. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, on December 27 at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton and a prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM. Robbie was born January 22, 1974 in Yankton, South Dakota to Daniel and Sharon (Schoenfelder) Cressy. He was baptized on February 16, 1974 and confirmed on March 19, 1989. Robbie was married to Miranda Herman on December 28, 1996. He was a 1993 graduate of Yankton High School where he participated in the theater program. In 2014, he earned a degree in business management/human relations from Southeast Tech in Sioux Falls. For many years, Robbie called Sioux Falls home having been employed by Balance Systems, Window World and DirecTV. After moving to Dallas, he worked for Smart Circle as an inventory logistics specialist. While in Dallas, Robbie was part of The Village Church’s 2017 Mission Trip team to Ecuador where he shared his testimony with others and grew in his personal relationship with Christ. Robbie’s greatest joy and accomplishment in life was being a father to his children. He was well known for having a fun loving nature and was a practical jokester at heart. He enjoyed fishing, cooking his famous chili, and travel. He had a love for dogs, cats, karaoke, and Heinz ketchup. Robbie had a generous soul and family gatherings during the Thanksgiving/Christmas season were his favorite times of the year. Robbie is survived by his mother, Sharon (Dave) Hladky of Yankton; three children: Seth Cressy of Yankton, Devin Cressy and Rachel Cressy of Sioux Falls, SD; granddaughter, Lilyanna Damm of Trent, SD; sister, Jodi (Brian) Ruis and their children, Caleb and Haven Ruis, all of Little Canada, MN; and special friend, Lori Aldridge of Dallas, TX. Robbie was preceded in death by his father and grandparents. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at First Dakota National Bank, checks payable to “Robert Cressy Memorial Fund” at 225 Cedar St, Yankton, SD 57078.
