Richelle Woockman

Richelle Woockman, age 47, of Yankton, South Dakota, died Sunday, August 6, 2023, at her home in Yankton.

Visitation is from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM on Sunday, August 13, 2023, at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton, South Dakota.  You are welcome to join the family at South Park in Crofton following the visitation.  Burial will be at a later date in the Hartington City Cemetery in Hartington, Nebraska.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to her daughter Jaycee's college fund at Farmers & Merchants State Bank in Crofton, Nebraska.

Richelle Leslie Woockman was born June 18, 1976, in Lincoln, Nebraska to Richard and Dianne (Hillman) Woockman.  She graduated from Wakefield High School in 1994, where she excelled at long distance running making the state track meet three years in a row and was also crowned homecoming queen.  She then attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska and later moved to Phoenix, Arizona where she made a life for herself for many years.  She lived in Florida for a few years and then moved to Yankton, South Dakota.  She was blessed with the birth of her daughter Jaycee in 2006.

Richelle was a very thoughtful, caring, giving woman who had an infectious smile and big heart.  She loved animals, arts and crafts and having fun.  She was always worried about everyone else and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her daughter, Jaycee Vornhagen of Crofton, Nebraska; father, Richard (Vicki) Woockman of Chapin, South Carolina; mother, Dianne Woockman of Crofton; brother, Nick (Kelly) Woockman of Omaha, Nebraska; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
