Mary Lee Cannon

Mary Lee Cannon age 80 of Yankton, SD and formerly of Crofton, Nebraska died on Friday, March 8, 2024 at Avera Sister James Care Center in Yankton.

A Memorial Service is being planned for Wednesday, May 29, 2024  at 10:30 a.m. at the United Church of Christ in Crofton with the Rev. Karl Watkins officiating.  Burial of her cremated remains will be next to her parents, Lawrence Walter and Olga Vera (Huckfeldt) Cannon, at the Fort Pierre Cemetery in Fort Pierre, SD.

Mary Lee was born on May 24, 1943 in Pierre, SD to Lawrence Walter and Olga Vera (Huckfeldt) Cannon.
 
Mary Lee was a teacher and held two masters degrees in Music Education and Special Education.  She taught for 15 years in Hartington, NE and 21 years in Crofton.

She has a brother John W. (Diane)Cannon in Lusk, Wyoming; nieces AmberLee Dukray of Denver, CO, Brady (Dallas) Terrill of Casper, WY; nephew Mark A. Huebner of St. George, Utah.

Mary Lee was preceded in death by her sister Patty Huebner.
