Marvin Oswald

Marvin Oswald age 88 of Wayne, Nebraska and formerly of Allen, Nebraska died on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at the Kinship Pointe Assisted Living in Wayne, NE. Funeral Services will be on Friday, January 28, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the Evangelical Free Church in Concord, Nebraska with Pastor Todd Thelen, Pastor Scott Kahn, and Pastor Dwight Oswald officiating. Burial will be at the Eastview Cemetery in Allen, Nebraska.  Visitation will be on Thursday, at church, from 6-8:00 p.m. with a time of sharing at 7:00 p.m.  Visitation will continue on Friday morning one hour prior to services.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Laurel, NE. Pallbearers will be his grandsons Kyle Oswald, Chad Oswald, Eric Oswald, Christopher Schoning, Zachary Schoning, Jared Schoning, B.J. Schoning, Joseph Schoning, Daniel Oswald, Jacob Oswald, Colton Oswald, Lukas Oswald, and Nathan Oswald. Honorary pallbearers will be Marvin’s granddaughters, Ellie Diehm, Charis High, Charity Anderson, Faith Nichols, Amber Mattson, and Lexi Curnyn. Marvin was born on February 23, 1933 in Beemer, Nebraska to Joseph R. and Anna (Oswald) Oswald.  He attended country school thru the 6^th grade and then graduated from Beemer Public School. Marvin married Eunice Joyce Oswald on September 16, 1956 at the East Fairview Mennonite Church in Milford, NE. Marvin worked in trucking, hauling cars and cattle.  He was a lifelong farmer until he began working for Waldbaum’s /Michael Foods in the 1980’s until he retired.  He was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Concord and taught the Senior Adult Group at church. Marvin is survived by his six children and their spouses, Dwight (Jane) Oswald of Council Bluffs, IA, Dwaine (Barb) Oswald of Allen, Mary (Jeff) Schoning of Griswold, IA, Martin Oswald of Wakefield, Max (Lana) Oswald of Allen, Curtis (Dawn) Oswald of Allen; 19 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; brother and spouse Merle (Betty) Oswald of Beemer, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Eunice on 12/18/2018 at the age of 81years; siblings Ella (Joe) Ehrisman, Elmer (Deloris) Oswald, Deloris (John) Bellar, Marie (Harold) Eichelberger, Mildred (Vernon) White.
