Marcella A. "Sally" Burbach

Marcella (Sally) A. Burbach, age 81 of Hartington, Nebraska, died on Wednesday March 3rd while living in Minnesota. Marcella was cremated and no funeral services will be held as per Marcella’s wishes.  Visitation will be on Friday March 12th at the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington from 4:00 to 6:00pm with a vigil service at 5:00 pm.  The Burbach family will be present from 4-6pm.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington. Honorary Pallbearers will be her six grandchildren: Amanda, Katie, Christopher, Nicholas, Sarah and Nathan; and one great-grandchild Noah. Marcella was born September 23, 1939, in Hartington, NE to Raymond and Margaret Barnes and grew up on a farm southeast of Hartington. She graduated from Hartington Public High School in 1957. Upon graduation, Marcella worked for many years for attorneys Phil Robinson, Paul Robinson and Max Goetz before starting her own business, Burbach Abstract and Title.  Marcella ran her own company for twenty years before retiring in April 2011. Marcella enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and spending time with family. She married Eugene Burbach on April 29, 1961 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church and lived her entire life in Hartington before moving to the Twin Cities this past year. Marcella is survived by her three children, Mark Burbach and special friend Patti Boehner, Lincoln, NE; Brian (Susan) Burbach, Stillwater, MN; Lisa (Dave) Lokhorst, Sioux Center, IA; six grandchildren, Amanda, Minneapolis, MN, Katie, Omaha, NE Christopher, and Nicholas, Lincoln, NE, Sarah, Moville, IA and Nathan, Indianola, IA; one great-grandchild, Noah, Moville, IA; one sister, Mary Kramer of Norfolk, NE; and one brother, Paul Barnes of Macon, MO. Marcella was preceded in death by her husband Eugene in 2015 and her parents Raymond and Margaret Barnes; son Steven; one brother Gary and two sisters Rita and Betty.
