Lyle John was born on March 15, 1941 in Crofton, Nebraska to Leonard Albert and Dorothy Josephine (Hegge) Tramp.  Lyle was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.  He grew up in Crofton and attended school completing the 9th grade, he then continued to do what he loved, farming with his father and mother.   Lyle served stateside in the U.S. Army from November 26, 1963 to March 24, 1965 during the Vietnam War.  After his honorable discharge he continued to farm for the rest of this life.  Lyle purchased many lots overlooking the Lewis and Clark Lake and spent countless hours clearing those properties of trees so the lots could be sold. He built a beautiful home on one of those lots.  He also sold the lumber that he cleared. He and his father moved and restored many buildings and made them useful.   He enjoyed auctions and had an eye for antiques and found many treasures he shared.

He looked forward to dancing and celebrating his birthday with friends at the annual Fireman’s ball and many other dances.  His valued companions, his German Shepherds were always his helping hand.  He played for Beaver Creek baseball on Sunday afternoons, managed by his father, Leonard.  He was a member of the Crofton BlueJays that won the 1972 Amateur Baseball Tourney between South Dakota and North Dakota, making the all-Tourney team as a first baseman.  He held   a batting average of .529 in 1968.

Lyle is survived by four siblings LaVerta Mauch of Crofton, Joyce (Stephen) Schneider of Henderson, NV, Ron (Bernice) Tramp of Crofton, Sharon (Mike) Zimmerman of Crofton; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; step-granddaughter Carrie (Tony) Ellis of Fort Calhoun, NE.
