Luella Frieda Diena Bose, of Laurel, Nebraska passed away December 08, 2021 at Hillcrest Care Center in Laurel at the age of 101 years, 10 months and 8 days.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 am on Thursday, December 16, 2021, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 58085 867th Road, Concord, Nebraska with the Rev. William Bertrand officiating. Burial will be at St. Paul church cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 15th from 5-7 p.m. at the Wintz Funeral Home in Laurel. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services on Thursday. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Laurel.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Bose, Jon Benjamin, Matthew Sutton, Andy Bose, Ron Mattes, and Ron Dunaway.
Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Sutton, Tasha Jeffries, Michele Dew, Katie Bose, and Kayla Bose.
Luella was born February 1, 1920 to Fred and Emma (Lilji) Wolter at Dixon, Nebraska. She was baptized and confirmed in her faith at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Laurel. Luella attended school and graduated from Dixon High School in 1937. She married Paul Bose on April 28, 1940 and they celebrated 70 years together. They farmed in the Concord/Wayne area and raised 5 children. In 1985 they retired and moved into Laurel. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, rural Concord and a member of the Ladies Aid. Also, was a member of Merry Homemakers Club for many years.
Luella took great joy in visits with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and other family members and friends. Luella was a devoted wife and mother. As a grandmother she showed patience, love, and kindness. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren always made her smile. She loved cooking family dinners and the grandchildren will always remember her cinnamon rolls, macaroni and cheese and friends her apple pie. She embroidered and quilted over 50 quilts for her children and grandchildren to enjoy and treasure. She loved gardening and canning in her younger years. Also, had a great love for her roses. In later years became an avid reader and enjoyed word search books.
Surviving are her loving and grateful children, Marlyce Benjamin of Lincoln, NE. Joyce and son-in-law Dennis Sutton, Garner, NC. Marlin and daughter-in-law Mary Bose, Dixon, NE. Jim and daughter-in-law Debbie Bose, Bellevue, NE. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren Jon Benjamin, Lincoln, NE, Tasha and Donnie Jeffries, Joplin, MO, Steven and Janelle Sutton, Philadelphia, PA, Michele and Eric Dew, Saratoga, WY, Matthew and Jenny Sutton, Oconomowoc, WI. Andy and Julie Bose, Wayne, NE. Katie Bose, Dixon, NE. Aaron and Kristi Bose, Louisville, NE and Kayla Bose, Omaha, NE. Twenty great grandchildren Stella Hofer, Camden Jeffries, Olivia Luella, Liam, and Emmeline Sutton. Preston, Jenna, Ashton, Teegan and Jaxson Dew. Alexander and Mia Sutton. Evan, Emilia and Abigail Bose. Henry Bose. Ava Bose. Callina Bose, Lillian Starkey and Phoenix Cunningham.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Her husband in 2010, her daughter Janice in 1999 and son-in-law Don Benjamin in 2006. Two brothers Lloyd Wolter, William (Vera) Wolter and sisters Margret Wolter, Elinor (Orville) Goodwin, Iola (Jim) Geiger, and Deloris (Russel) Nissen.
The family expresses its deep appreciation to the staff of Hillcrest Assisted Living and Care Center of Laurel, where Luella resided for the past 11 years.
