Lori Jean McCarthy

Lori Jean McCarthy, age 60, of Yankton, South Dakota died on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton. No services are planned and arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Yankton. Lori was born March 25, 1961 in Yankton, South Dakota to Earl Sanford Hauck and Anna Mae Sorenson.  She grew up in Yankton and graduated from Yankton High School in 1979.  Throughout her life, Lori lived in Texas and California and just last year, moved back to Yankton.  Lori loved watching scary movies and enjoyed the company of her many cats.  Lori especially loved shopping, jewelry, and spoiling her children and grandchildren, which she adored.  She would always tell her family, “I love you with all of my heart, forever and ever so much.” Lori is survived by three daughters: Jennifer (Jon) Holman; Carrie (Austin) Steinberg of Yankton, and Brittney Frederick (Patrick McGrath) of Stockton, CA; one son, Christopher Hanson of Sacramento, CA; four grandchildren; one brother; two sisters; and many nieces and nephews. Lori was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jay Acton; and niece, Jamie Grandon.
