Loretta Marie Bottolfsen, age 100 of Beemer, Nebraska and formerly of Hartington, Nebraska died on Monday, May 11, 2020 at the St. Joseph’s Hillside Villa in West Point, Nebraska. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington, NE with Rev. Owen Korte officiating. Burial will be in the St. Michael’s Cemetery in Hartington. A public viewing will be held one hour prior to services on Wednesday, at church. The funeral will be limited to 100 people with proper face coverings being required. Loretta was born on March 11, 1920 on the family farm near Obert, NE to Joseph and Ethel (Gothier) Bergman. She attended school district #14 at Branch. Loretta worked at home and for people in Hartington. On August 1, 1940, she was united in marriage to Herbert Bottolfsen at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington, NE. The couple lived on the farm east of Hartington and later retired to Hartington. Loretta was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Beemer, NE. She was also a member of the Christian Mothers and Ministry of Praise at Holy Trinity Parish in Hartington. Loretta is survived by a son, James (Lila) Bottolfsen of Wilbur, NE; two daughters, Dianne (LeRoy) Meiergerd of Beemer, NE, Linda (Don) Retzlaff of Seward, NE; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Nichols of Oregon, and Madeline Kruse of California. She was preceded in death by twin infant sons, John and Joseph; husband, Herbert Bottolfsen; parents, Joseph and Ethel Bergman; brothers, Glenn and Dale Bergman; sisters, Laura Whitehorn, Lucile Jensen; and granddaughter, Jennifer Glover.
