Kenny A. Plantenberg was born September 11, 1960, in Pierre, South Dakota, to Emil and Lavina (Hegge) Plantenberg. He grew up in South Sioux City, Nebraska and graduated from Bishop Heelan High School in Sioux City, Iowa in 1979. He loved playing baseball and was a great pitcher. Following high school, Kenny moved to the family farm near Crofton, Nebraska. He worked on the farm and also drove the milk truck. He moved to Omaha, Nebraska, and worked building houses and laying carpet. While working in Omaha he met Patty Curtis and they were later married on October 10, 1987 in Papillion, Nebraska. In 1990, they moved back to Crofton to help his father on the farm and also worked construction. Kenny was a genuine, generous, hardworking man who was truly jack of all trades. He could fix anything and would do anything for anyone. He was good at everything whether it was horseshoes, cornhole, golf, pool, bowling or just about anything. He loved being around people, making new friends, taking his dog, Sosa on walks but what he loved most was his family. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He loved attending all of their activities and taking them camping. He will be greatly missed.
