Karl B. Stappert age 60 of Conroe, Texas and formerly of Bow Valley, Nebraska died on Monday, April 4, 2022 at his residence.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family (Sts. Peter & Paul) Catholic Church in Bow Valley with the Rev. Jim Keiter officiating.  Burial will be at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Bow Valley.  Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday, April 19th from 5-7:00 p.m. with a Vigil service at 7:00 p.m.  Visitation will continue on Wednesday one hour prior to services.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington, Nebraska.
Pallbearers will be Andy Stappert, Dillon Stappert, Preston Stappert, Adam Wortmann, Ross Wortmann, and Alex Swanson. Honorary pallbearers will be Christian Stappert, Connor Stappert, Justin Zahn, and Karl’s nieces. Karl Benedict was born on February 14, 1962 in Yankton, SD to Charles Evan and Claudette Delores (Becker) Stappert.  He grew up in Bow Valley and graduated from Wynot High School in 1981.  Karl then attended Northeast Technical Community College in Norfolk for two years.  He began working in Houston in 1983 for Daniel Industries which was later purchased by Emerson Automatic Solutions (an Oil and Gas Company) as a Flow Solutions Advisor.  His employment with this company was for a 40 year span, in which he had several patents in his tenure.  Karl married Robyn Marie Swanson on August 15, 1987 in Bow Valley, NE. Karl was very meticulous with his yard, his trees on their past acreage, and most everything he was involved in, demanding perfection – which was passed onto his sons.  He was a great cook and was known for his oyster stew on his brother’s pheasant hunting trips for the past 20 years. Karl also took his sons to Arkansas for an annual trout fishing trip. He was also very talented as a woodworker. Karl is survived by his wife Robyn of Conroe, TX; three sons Jacob and Kristopher Stappert of Magnolia, TX, Kyle Stappert of Conroe, TX; mother Claudette Stappert of Elkhorn, NE; six siblings and spouses Roxanne (Scott) Stanard of Omaha, NE, John (Janie) Stappert of Norfolk, NE, Mike (Linda) Stappert of Gardner, KS, Carol Spetman of Scottsdale, AZ, Ron (Claudia) Stappert of Palm Harbor, FL, Joe (Lori) Stappert of Omaha, NE; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Stappert; paternal grandparents Hugo (Tillie) Stappert; maternal grandparents Claude (Lucina) Becker; father-in-law Larry Swanson; brother-in-law Ryan Swanson.
