Jasmine Snoozy, age 29, of Yankton, South Dakota, passed away unexpectedly in Nebraska, on July 24, 2025, leaving behind family, friends, and a community who will deeply miss her.
There will be a gathering to celebrate Jasmine’s life from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at the Wintz & Ray Hospitality Center in Yankton and a time of sharing will be held at 4:00 PM.
Jasmine Denise Snoozy was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to Scott and Lisa (Miles) Snoozy. Born September 30, 1995, she would have celebrated her golden birthday by turning 30 years old this fall. The oldest of five children, Jasmine filled a role as a loving and dedicated “second mother” to her younger siblings. She adored her brothers and sisters whose respect was admirably mutual. Jasmine provided compassion, kindness, and inspiration to her family and friends who treasure their memories and the special moments together. She shared those same amazing characteristics as a most devoted and loving mother to her awesome son, Amari Williams, who was born in 2020 and became the center of Jasmine’s world.
Highly intelligent and inquisitive, Jasmine graduated a semester early with the Yankton High School Class of 2014. She was currently pursuing an online degree in psychology and business through Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU). Jasmine was recognized with Dean’s List honors every semester in college with her academic excellence recently earning impressive SNHU Honors Program membership.
Known for her brilliance and her beauty, she also cultivated her many talents. Her strong motivation, outstanding organizational abilities, winning personality, and high-level leadership supported her at excelling in the workplace. After high school, Jasmine temporarily relocated to other locations within South Dakota and to Mississippi, where she worked in food service, primarily in managerial positions. She returned to Yankton, working online with insurance, earning honors as a Top-Performing Sales Professional for building strong client relationships for long-term success. She also previously worked at McDonalds and Walmart in Yankton.
Jasmine’s extensive list of hobbies included cooking, crafts, making earrings, home decorating, restaurant dining, and most importantly enjoying every possible moment with her amazing son, Amari by cuddling, reading, roller skating, boating, fishing, and playing together. She truly enjoyed life’s simple pleasures including morning coffee on the front porch bench, night drives, and quiet time spent with loved ones.
Jasmine leaves behind her treasured five-year-old son Amari Williams of Yankton; her caring father, Scott Snoozy of Montana; her cherished siblings, Joslyn, Alexander “Alex” and Julie Snoozy (Seth Navarrette), all of Yankton; niece, Lucy; nephew, Jonah; and her beloved significant other, Kyle Katterhagen of Yankton. She also enjoyed a close relationship with family friend Myron Richey, who shared a special grandfather-like role in her life. Jasmine was a dedicated caretaker for her furry family including Ember the cat, Nitro the dog, and Remi, her yellow Labrador puppy.
Jasmine, who was pregnant with her second child, was thrilled to be fulfilling her wish for creating, as she often said, "Her happy, healthy little family." Her son was expected to arrive in January 2026.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lisa at age 45 in 2022; and her brother Anthony “Phillip” at age 22 in 2024.
The family encourages everyone to follow Jasmine’s inspiration, which she shared as a message tattooed on her left arm: “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”
In lieu of flowers, memorials to offset expenses may be directed to the Snoozy Family at Wintz & Ray Funeral Home, 2901 Douglas Avenue in Yankton, SD 57078.
