Ivadell was born February 5, 1937, in Maskell, Nebraska to the late Donald and Sylvia (Gregg) Nelson. She was raised as the oldest of six children as her brother Martin passed before her birth.
Ivadell grew up in the Maskell area, attending country schools before graduating from Maskell High School in 1955. Ivadell was baptized and confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church in Maskell, the place where her faith was first nurtured. On September 1, 1957, she married Robert Burcham in that same church, and together they built a life rooted in faith and love. Bob and Ivadell welcomed five children, raising them by example and weaving faith into the fabric of their home.
In the late 1970s, Ivadell began a career in real estate that would span nearly five decades. She guided countless couples through the joy of purchasing their first home and became a trusted regional expert in agricultural land transactions. Her professional work continued with dedication and integrity until 2024.
Ivadell did not believe in standing still. She had a gift for drawing people into her projects, often before they even realized what they had agreed to. With just one friendly conversation, she could inspire someone to lend a hand fixing, planting, moving, cleaning, painting, baking, or sewing. These projects nearly always made the community better, and, more often than not, they touched the lives of the church family she loved dearly.
For Ivadell, community and church were inseparable from family. She poured her energy into all three, leaving a legacy of service, hospitality, and faithful love.
Ivadell is survived by her children Rochelle (Bruce) Sorensen, Cynthia (Ronald) Geis, David Burcham, and Lisa (Chad) Beckius. Her grandchildren Torrie (Eland) Summers, Dylan Rasmussen, Breanna (Isiah) Bolton, Robert (Karen) Sorensen, Katie (Dan) Werner, Jacob (Carolyn) Geis, Anna (Ben) Fitzwater, Joseph (Josie) Geis, Leah Geis (Thomas Gehring), Heather Burcham (Tristen Flying Hawk), Austin Burcham, Zachary Burcham (Alayna Hanson), Andrew Beckius, Caleb Beckius, numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, sister Linda (Francis) Ausedemore, and brother Loy Nelson.
Ivadell was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, daughter Tammie Rasmussen, granddaughter Amanda Rasmussen, great grandson Liam Fitzwater, brothers Martin and Larry, sister Adell Bennett and sister-in-law Karen Nelson.
