Helen M. Dickes

Helen Mabel Dickes, age 84 of Hartington, Nebraska died on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Accura Healthcare in Hartington.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington with the Rev. Raymond Solberg officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives from 1-2:00 p.m. prior the Memorial service. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington.

Helen Mabel was born on January 26, 1942 in Page, Nebraska to Melvin Lee and Dorothea Mae (King) Hall Sr. Helen married Lawrence Joseph Dickes on October 24, 1992 in Coleridge, Nebraska. Helen worked as a machinist at Freeman Company, an in-home caretaker, and as a CNA at the Hartington Care Center.

Helen is survived by her husband Lawrence of Hartington; a daughter Rita (Kruger) Lester and husband William; grandchildren Matt Schmidt, Ashley Berry, Isaiah Kruger, and three brothers – Melvin Hall Jr., Loren Hall, and Kenny Hall.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sons Delbert Kruger Jr. and Kevin Kruger; sisters Ruth Wright, Caroline Lundstrom, and Marjorie Hall.
