Geralda Rose was born on August 31, 1939 in Fordyce, Nebraska to Raymond Casper and Alma Theresa (Arens) Wubben.  She grew up in the Fordyce area and attended elementary school there and then attended Holy Trinity High School in Hartington.  Gerry worked as a mother's helper for many local families. She also went for six months to the Franciscan Convent in Madison, WI. Gerry worked for a bakery in Yankton for a while prior to marrying Edward Dean McGregor on October 4, 1960 in Fordyce. They raised eight children, Patti, Sue, Joan, Jim, Kathy, Nancy, Keith, and Bill.  Gerry eventually helped at the Holy Trinity school cafeteria, worked at the Bank of Hartington, and volunteered to help with the nursing home residents – getting them to mass, meals and social functions.  Gerry was devoted to the rosary and led the rosary at home with her family, at the nursing home, and at mass for many years.

Gerry was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and held an hour of adoration for 20 years.  She belonged to the Christian Mothers, and the Holy Trinity Guild. She loved cooking, gardening, and canning. Gerry always had homemade cookies in the freezer.  She was a former 4-H mom, and attended lots of ballgames and functions for her children and grandchildren. She loved to play cards, did sewing and embroidery work. Gerry was always diligent with helping others and always kept busy doing something for her family and friends.  She will best be remembered as a humble servant.

Gerry is survived by her husband, Dean of 63 years; her eight children and spouses, Patti (Jim) Promes of Hartington, Sue (Scott) Driver of Minden, Joan (Todd) Greder of Sloan, IA, Jim McGregor of Hartington, Kathy Hochstein of Springfield, IL, Nancy (Rod) Raszler of Elkhorn, Keith (Mirna) McGregor of Long Beach, CA and Bill (Becky) McGregor of Hartington; 21 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters Betty (Harold) Eickhoff of Hartington, Jean Marie Lammers of Hartington, Claudette (Doug) Sternhagen of Hartington, Chuck Wubben of Yankton, SD; three sisters-in-law Dianne Wubben of Yankton, SD, Coletta Wubben of Fordyce, Janice Wubben of Yankton, SD.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Alma Wubben; three brothers Cyril, Mark, and Daniel Wubben; brothers-in-law Tom Lammers and Dave Thoene; sister-in-law Marla Wubben.
