Emma Hirschman, age 98 of Millard, Nebraska and formerly of Coleridge, Nebraska died on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Society in Millard, Nebraska. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at 1:00 pm at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Coleridge, NE with Rev. Owen Korte officiating. Burial will be in the St. Michael’s Cemetery in Coleridge. A public viewing will be held one hour prior to services on Thursday, at the church. The funeral will be limited to 50 people with proper face coverings being required. Pallbearers will be Mike & Mary Pat Baier, Mitch & Kelly Baier, and Amy & Adam Bisenius. Honorary pallbearers will be Nicole Tabor, Karen Vancura, Zachary Baier, Morgan Baier, McKenzie Baier, Madison Baier, Kelsey Baier, Brody Bisenius, Brock Bisenius, and Brayden Bisenius. Emma was born on November 21, 1921 in Hartington, NE to William and Agatha (Berg) Pick. She grew up in the Coleridge area and graduated from Holy Trinity High School. On June 11, 1940, Emma married Homer H. Hirschman. They were married for 55 years until Homer died in 1995. Emma lived the majority of her life in the Coleridge area. She was a caregiver for several years and she also worked as a bookkeeper for various local businesses. Emma enjoyed playing cards, embroidering, playing bingo, line dancing at the nursing home, and spending time with her family. Emma is survived by a daughter, Margaret (Gene) Baier of Millard, NE; son, Tom (Susan) Hirschman of Holstein, IA; grandchildren, Mike (Mary Pat) Baier, Mitch (Kelly) Baier, Amy (Adam) Bisenius; great-grandchildren, Nicole Tabor, Karen Vancura, Zachary Baier, Morgan Baier, McKenzie Baier, Madison Baier, Kelsey Baier, Brody Bisenius, Brock Bisenius, Brayden Bisenius; two great-great-grandchildren, Kamery Vancura, Blake Tabor; sister-in-law, Virginia Pick; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Homer on October 9, 1995; five brothers, and two sisters.
