Elzearius “Al” Wieseler was born August 21, 1936 in St. Helena, Nebraska, to Otto and Regina (Sudbeck) Wieseler. He grew up on the farm near St. Helena and attended country school there until graduating from Cedar Catholic High School in Hartington, Nebraska. He then started working in the concrete business for his brother, Arsenius. He married Judy Kreeger on July 13, 1968 in Yankton, South Dakota. Al continued working for his brother for 17 years until taking a job with the city water department in Yankton. They then moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and Al worked for Budget Rent-A-Car as a bus driver for 22 years until retiring and moving back to Yankton to be closer to family in 2009.
Al was a kind, patient, honorable man who was always polite and considerate to anyone he met. He loved being around people and listening to them visit, always making it more about them than about him. He enjoyed playing bingo, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, Nebraska Cornhuskers and car racing. He loved dogs and enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels. He especially loved spending time with his beloved wife, Judy.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Wieseler of Yankton, South Dakota and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Arsenius and Cyril.
