Donnie L. Maruska

Donnie L. Maruska, age 90, of Yankton, South Dakota, died Monday, March 23, 2026, at Avera Sister James Care Center in Yankton.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton, South Dakota, with Reverend Gary Woodruff officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Yankton. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral on Saturday at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home.

Donnie L. Maruska was born May 29, 1935, in Scotland, South Dakota, to Louis and Rose (Hakl) Maruska. He grew up in Scotland and from a young age loved cars. He began working for the local car dealership when he was 12, detailing vehicles. He graduated from Scotland High School and then began working for the State Highway Department, which he continued until his retirement. He then began selling cars for Robinson-Ehret Motors in Yankton for over 10 years.

Don was a perfectionist who always wanted everything clean and spotless. He loved cars his whole life and enjoyed collecting old cars as well as jewelry. If he said he was going to do something, it was as good as done, and done right.

Survivors include his daughter, Cindy (Darrell) Spence of Yankton, South Dakota; grandchildren: Jennica and Amber Spence; great grandchildren: Natalie Mahon and Everleigh Williams and sister, Lynette Lindsey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Rose Maruska.
