Donald David Sextro

Donald D. Sextro age 59 of Hartington, Nebraska passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his family and friends. A Celebration of Life service is being planned for Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Butte, NE. Church address is 921 Gale St, Butte, NE 68722.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington, NE. Donald David Sextro was born on October 9^th, 1963, in Burke, SD to David and Betty Sextro. He grew up and graduated from Butte, NE where he participated in football and wrestling. From there he met Hollie E. Elsasser and they married February 11^th, 1986. They had three daughters, Amber, Kaci, and Natalie. They moved to Hartington and have lived there 31 years. He was employed with Nolan Transportation as an over the road truck driver. His favorite past time was watching football, especially the Falcons. Mowing his lawn and having laughs with friends and family was another passion. Don is survived by his wife Hollie of Hartington; daughters Amber (Matt) Greve of Omaha, Kaci (Jason) Hevelone of Littleton, CO, and Natalie (Jason) Schaecher of Hartington; seven grandchildren Hailey, Aspen, Korbyn, Seth, Isabell, Zane, and Bentley; his father David Sextro of Butte, NE; brothers Douglas (Linda) Sextro of Butte, NE,  and Dean (Marcie) Sextro  of Madison, NE; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Don was preceded in death by his Mother Betty Sextro, Brother Dustin, Grandparents, and an Aunt and Uncle.
