Diane Marie Anderson age 73 of Laurel, Nebraska died on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at her residence.

 Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Faith Community Church in Laurel with the Rev. Doug Collins officiating.   Visitation will be on Memorial Day, Monday, from 5-7:00 p.m. at the church.  Burial of her cremated remains will be at a later date at the Laurel Cemetery.   Visitation will continue on Tuesday one hour prior to services at the church.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Laurel. Memorials will be at the discretion of the family.

 Pallbearers will be Garrett Anderson, Caleb Anderson, Charles Hales, Jason Berg, Dustin Thompson, and Jerry Nelson.  Honorary pallbearers will be all of her grandchildren.

 Diane Marie was born on April 25, 1951 in Laurel, Nebraska to Darrell Gene and Norma Darlene (McDonald) Johnson.  She grew up on a farm south of Laurel and went to elementary country school at Golden Gleam, District 54.  Diane graduated from Laurel High School in 1969 and attended one year at Wayne State College.  She worked at the True Value store in Laurel until she was married to David Anderson on June 6, 1971 at the United Lutheran Church in Laurel.  They lived in Norfolk for four years before moving back to Laurel in 1975.  Diane and Dave raised three sons, Brian, Chad, and Jared.  Diane then did janitorial work for United Methodist Church for several years before going to work for Gary & Charlotte Anderson at the grocery store in Laurel for 12 years, eventually becoming the meat cutter.  She then managed Cedar View Steakhouse and Lounge for nine years.  On the side, Diane assumed the role of entrepreneur, selling Gold Canyon Candles, Essential Oils and “Queenies Feet” fleece pillows.

 Diane, lovingly referred to by family and friends as “Queenie”, was a member of the United Lutheran Church, then United Methodist Church, and finally the Faith Community Church in Laurel.  She was active in the church and woman’s church group. Her family meant the world to her, especially her grandchildren and great grandson. She enjoyed time spent in her pool and watching the sunsets at their camper.

 Diane is survived by her husband David of Laurel; three children Brian (Michelle) Anderson of Norfolk, Chad (Angie) Anderson of Jefferson, SD, Jared Anderson of Omaha; seven grandchildren Micheyla Anderson & (Charles Hales) of Norfolk, Katelyn Anderson of Norfolk, Garrett Anderson of Jefferson, SD, Skylar Anderson of Jefferson, SD, Caleb Anderson of Omaha, and Olivia Anderson of Omaha; one great grandson Matthew Hales of Norfolk; one sister Connie (Michael) James of Omaha, Tim (Julie)Anderson of North Platte, Lisa (Jerry) Guenther of Norfolk; several nieces and nephews.

 She was preceded in death by her parents Darrel and Norma Johnson; parents-in-law Clifford (Ardith) Anderson; sister-in-law Debby Anderson.
