Delores was also blessed with several step grandchildren: Jeremy, Justin, and Jessica Jensen, Gerry, Joe, and Leo Hastreiter, Shari Ebdrup, Mikyla Miller; Josh, Chad, Brett and Drew Allen, and Madison LaCroix and Alexis Nicolaisen.

Delores was born on the 13th day of August, 1939, to Fred and Emma (Buskirk) Tweedy in Verdel, Nebraska. She grew up in Verdel, Nebraska and attended Verdel High School. On the 21st day of December, 1956 she married Merlin LaCroix in Vermillion, South Dakota. Delores was the very heart of our family — a woman whose love for her family defined every day of her life. Though widowed many years ago, she carried the memory of her husband, Merlin, the love of her life, in every breath and in her heart every day. Even in his absence, she lived each day as a testament to the bond they shared.

Delores loved her kids and she was a mother and grandmother to many other non-family members. She was a great cook, making cinnamon rolls, buns, and her apple, cherry, and lemon pies. Delores went to all her grandchildren’s events she could. She loved sports, baseball, fishing, the Huskers, country music, dancing, bingo and gambling adventures. She took many driving trips with her sisters making lasting memories. She always attended her family reunions held in Wahoo, Nebraska. Delores was always willing to babysit her grandchildren. She loved caring for the flowers she placed on Merlin and Mervin’s gravesite.

She is survived by her children: Marlin (Laurie) LaCroix of Yankton, SD; Mitchell (Geralyn) LaCroix of Yankton, SD; Mark (Kay) LaCroix of Yankton, SD; Matt (Kaylee) LaCroix of Hot Springs, SD; Melinda (Justin) Michael of Crofton, NE and Merlin (Heather) LaCroix of Yankton, SD, many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and her sister and brother-in-law Sharon (Lawrence) Kaiser of Ceresco, NE.

She is now reunited in eternal peace with her beloved husband Merlin and son Mervin dancing to her favorite country songs along with grandsons Nicholas (Nick) LaCroix and Kyle Mueller; sister Darlene E. LaCroix; brother-in-law Bud LaCroix; sisters Etta Lucas and Donna Milliken; brothers Marion Tweedy, Ben Tweedy, Harold Tweedy, Richard Tweedy, and Kenneth Tweedy.
