David S. Frerichs, age 79 of Coleridge, Nebraska died on Monday, December 1, 2025 at the Osmond General Hospital in Osmond, NE.
Funeral services will be on Monday, December 8, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Coleridge with Rev. Marilyn Hasemann officiating. Burial will be at Lawn Ridge Cemetery in Coleridge. Visitation will be on Sunday, at church, from 3-5:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday one hour prior to services. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Coleridge.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Pehrson, Turner Korth, Sean Frerichs, Daniel Seagren, Terrill Cook, and Brooks Seagren. Honorary pallbearers will be: Grandchildren - Sydney Korth, Hailie Burival, Isabelle Seagren, Ellery Seagren, Emmaline Seagren, Alaina Hardy, Zander Hardy and Maverick Hardy.
David Scott was born on July 5, 1946 in Sioux City, lowa to Arnold Edmund and Dorothy Margaret (McQuinn) Frerichs. He grew up in Coleridge and graduated from Coleridge High School in 1964.
Dave attended Wayne State College before beginning his career in construction. On July 26, 1975, he married Sandra Lee Hahne, in Coleridge—on what was one of the hottest days of that summer. Dave later began a 25-year career with the telephone company in Jackson, NE. He completed his working years at Hydraulic Components in Hartington, retiring in 2020. In addition, Dave found great fulfillment in helping families through his work selling monuments for Luken Memorials in Yankton.
Dave was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Coleridge and proudly served with the Coleridge Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed deer hunting and fishing whenever he could. Dave was also a lifelong sports enthusiast, with a special love for bowling. He bowled four nights a week, participating in two mixed leagues and two men’s leagues in Coleridge. In addition, he was a member of the Coleridge Men’s Golf League in Hartington.
Above all, Dave cherished his family. He loved his children and grandchildren deeply and took great joy in supporting them, attending their activities and special events.
David is survived by his wife Sandra of Coleridge; two children Mike (Linda) Frerichs of Yankton, SD, Michelle (Daniel) Seagren of Wausa; eleven grandchildren- Sydney (Turner) Korth, Hunter Pehrson, Hailie (Jordan) Burival, Sean Frerichs, Isabelle Seagren, Brooks Seagren, Ellery Seagren, Emmaline Seagren, Alaina Hardy, Zander Hardy and Maverick Hardy; 2 great grandsons- Jaxon Burival and Kash Korth; a niece Annie (Kirk) Schultz of Billings, MT.
He was preceded in death by his parents Arnold and Dorothy Frerichs, sister Jolene Staton; brother-in-law Len Staton; in-laws Don and Marilyn Hahne.
