Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren. Daryl Henry Reifenrath was born June 25, 1945 in Laurel, Nebraska to Arnold and Velma (Christiansen) Reifenrath.  He grew up in the farming community north of Laurel, attending Mayflower Country School and graduated from Laurel High School in 1964.  He then began working for Pete Stewart in Laurel, then joined his brother Dick working for Bielenberg Construction in South Sioux City doing concrete work.  In 1968 he started farming with his dad north of Laurel.  He met a South Dakota gal on main street of Laurel during the annual “Dairy Days” celebration, that would become his future wife.  Daryl and Jane Coulthard were married on October 10, 1969 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Laurel.  They made their home north of Laurel on his Grandmother Craig’s farm and later moved to a farm west of highway 57.  They became the parents of four children—Tama, Rusty, Rynae and Lisa. He enjoyed working with his kids as they grew up and was involved in 4-H, their school activities, and had fun times with the “East Bow” neighbors.  The family moved to Laurel in 1988 and Daryl worked for Schmitt Construction and later Milo Meyer Construction where he became known as “Dozer Daryl”.  He retired in 2013 due to health conditions.  His free time was spent restoring a 770 Oliver tractor and “Suzi” his 1951 Ford car.  He loved competing in car shows and collected many trophies.  Daryl was a proud grandfather spending countless hours sitting in the bleachers cheering them on.  He was always their #1 fan.  He especially loved his new title of Great Grandpa. Daryl is survived by his wife Jane; children Tama (Jerry) Kastrup, Rusty (Trisha) Reifenrath, Rynae (Dan) Spahr, and Lisa Reifenrath (Justin Stephens); grandchildren Ross (Ann) Kastrup, Audrey (Danny) Wessel, Jayden Reifenrath, Shelby (Anthony) Workman, and Izac Reifenrath; step grandchildren Zach (Kyla) Spahr, Erika (Richie) Bennett; great granddaughter Ellie Kastrup; step-great grandchildren Dex, Gia, and Kallie; sister-in-law Barbara Coulthard; nieces and nephews; and his beloved four-legged buddy, Gus. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Arnold (Dick) and Roger; a sister Janice Hoch; brother-in-laws Harvey Coulthard and Dan Hoch; father-in-law Ted Coulthard; mother-in-laws Bessie Coulthard and Frances Coulthard; and nephew Mark Hoch.
