Dale Arthur Bach age 86 of Hartington, Nebraska died peacefully with his loving wife and family around him on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, SD. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Frances de Chantal Catholic Church in Randolph, Nebraska with the Rev. Timothy Forget officiating.  Burial will be at St. Frances Cemetery in Randolph with military rites by the Randolph VFW Post #5545.  Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 12th, at church, from 5-7:00 p.m. with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday one hour prior to services.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington. Pallbearers will be Dale’s grandsons Andy Kuchta, Tony Bach, Chris Christensen, Ryan Schurman, Josh Kuchta, Eric Schurman, Bryan Bach, and Tyler Schurman. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale’s granddaughters Jenny Rounds, April Petoske, Amanda Reimers, Nicole Christensen, Traci Horning, Anna Hoelscher, and Kathryn Eckstrom. Dale was born on December 31, 1935 in Coleridge, Nebraska to Arthur Helmuth and Pearl Myrtle J. (Lewon) Bach. He grew up in the Belden and Sholes, Nebraska area and attended elementary country school and then graduated from Randolph High School in 1954.  He entered the U.S. Army during peacetime and served in Germany.  After his honorable discharge he came back home. Dale married Lucille A. Gubbels on May 9, 1957 at St. Frances Catholic Church in Randolph.  Dale farmed eight miles north of Randolph where he milked cows, raised livestock and grain.  Dale always loved the planting and harvest seasons and being around to help. Dale enjoyed going to farm sales, toy auctions and going out to eat. He also enjoyed western movies, old sitcoms and Hogan’s Heroes. Dale had a passion of collecting farm toys. He especially loved his family and being with them. Dale enjoyed going on trips up to the Black Hills. He was a member of St. Frances de Chantal Catholic Church. Dale is survived by his wife Lucille of 64 years; four children and spouses Dan (MaryAnn) Bach of Randolph, Julie Christensen of Casper, WY, Janet (Jim) Kuchta of Randolph, Lisa (Randy) Schurman of Coleridge; 15 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren; two brothers Don (Darlene) Bach of Sioux City, Iowa, Ken (Barb) Bach of Coleridge; many nieces and nephews. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, and infant grandson Joshua James Kuchta.
