Curtis J. Lich, age 43 of Coleridge, Nebraska died on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at his residence.

A Celebration of Life service honoring Curtis will be held at a later date.

Curtis James was born on August 21, 1982 in Norfolk, Nebraska to Terry Dale and Darlene Faye (Groeteluschen) Lich. He grew up in Madison, Nebraska and worked for IDFI in Sioux City, Iowa as a field technician welder from July 2015 to April of 2026. Curtis had many skills – a mechanic, welder, blacksmithing, dry walling, and as a carpenter to name a few. He married Michelle Lynn Stambaugh on September 17, 2007 in Pierce, NE. After 24 years together, they recently divorced.

Curtis loved fishing, gardening, going to Flea Markets, finding a bargain deal, tinkering with his cars, exploring new restaurants, and eating new foods. He was a good cook and loved grilling, making homemade noodles and made an awesome chicken noodle soup. Curtis had a sense of humor and was quick witted. He loved a good joke. He liked to play games on his phone – Candy Crush and various other video games like X-Box. Curtis would often take things apart so he could see how they went back together. He loved his dog Leia.

Curtis loved being with his dad and family. He was a hands-on teacher with his children, giving them many life skills for the future.

Curtis is survived by the mother of his children – Michelle Lich of Coleridge, three children Christopher Kieser of Norfolk, Alexandria Lich of Anchorage, Alaska, Benjamin Lich of Coleridge; father Terry Lich of Coleridge; mother Darlene Lich of Norfolk; siblings Angie Svoboda of Norfolk, his twin brother Chris Lich of Battle Creek, Brian Lich of Indiana; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother Derrick at age 47 due to cancer; granddaughter Guinevere James; paternal grandparents Eugene (Gladys Junk) Lich, maternal grandparents Leo (Donna) Groeteluschen.
