Cleone B. Hansen, age 103 of Coleridge, Nebraska died on Monday, March 23, 2026 at Park View Haven Nursing Home in Coleridge.
Funeral Services will be on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hartington, Nebraska with the Rev. Amanda Talley officiating. Burial will be at the Hartington City Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 5-7:00 p.m. at the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren – Robbie Wingender, Kenny Wingender, Keith Wingender, Joel Hochstein, Patrick Hansen, Cory Bonneau, Tonya Sandfort, Brian Bonneau, Beverly French, Susie Ramsey, Ashley Promes, Courtney Lunde, and Shelby Weber.
Cleone Berniece Hansen, daughter of John Albert & Ollie (Chase) Nordby, was born February 16, 1923 in Hartington, NE. Cleone was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hartington. She attended Northwest Star rural school, and graduated from Hartington High School in 1940. She traveled to San Francisco and worked at a drug store for a few months, then returned home.
Cleone met her future husband Elmer Hansen at a dance at the Skylon Ballroom in Hartington. They were married on January 20, 1944 at Trinity Lutheran Church. In 1949 they moved to the family farm southeast of Hartington, then moving into Hartington the fall of 1983. She worked for various Hartington businesses including several years at the Neu Cheese Plant.
Cleone belonged to Trinity Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aide. She was active in the church helping with bulletins, quilting, and working at the Lutheran Fair Stand at the Cedar County Fair. She loved bowling, playing cards, square dancing, needle point and ceramics. She and Elmer enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, Hawaii, Alaska, and Canada visiting family and friends. Montana was one of her favorite places to visit which involved trout fishing.
She is survived by three children and spouses, Karen and Ed Ball of Crossville, TN.; Bob and Nancy Hansen of Coleridge, NE.; Kristi Hochstein of Hartington, NE; 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband (Elmer, June 11, 2009 at 92 years), a daughter and son-in-law Berniece and Bruce Wingender, son-in-law Don Bonneau, sister and brother-in-law Phyllis and Clarence (Pete) Petersen, grandson-in-law Russell Orr and granddaughter-in-law Donna Bonneau.
