Clement L. Bostwick

Clement (Clem/Kelly) Leon Bostwick age 76 of Newcastle, Nebraska passed from this life to eternal glory on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at his residence. Celebration of his life will be on Friday, July 15, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Christ the King Community Church in Ponca, Nebraska with the Rev. Jeff Peters officiating.  Burial will be at the Maskell, Cemetery in Maskell, Nebraska. Visitation with the family present will be on Thursday, at church in Ponca, from 6-8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday one hour prior to services.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington, Nebraska. Clem was born to Hugh & Adelene (Nelson) Bostwick on November 30, 1945 in Maskell, Nebraska. He graduated from Kellbert High School in 1963 and was a member of Christ the King church in Ponca, Nebraska. Clem had a heart of gold, never met a stranger. He would drop anything he was doing to assist someone who needed help. And oh yes! he was a zealous Cornhusker football fan. He and Sheryl Whelchel were married in California in 1966 and in 1969 they moved back to Nebraska. Their daughter, Christine Lee, was born to them in 1970.  Clem had an absolute dedication to his daughter Christine and his grandchildren Jordan, Jaci, and Brittni. He spent as much time with them as time allowed. He loved hunting and fishing; his hunting and fishing companions through the years were his dad, his brothers, his daughter, grandchildren, and many friends. Clem was meticulous with his work; he never left a job undone. He owned and operated BOSTWICK FENCING for forty years. The company grew and was successful due to his great customer service ethics and his ability to hire and manage a reliable workforce. After selling his business he became involved with several jobs in the RV business. He was a self-taught carpenter. He remodeled several homes and he helped build his new home in Dakota City. This past year he constructed and installed three large beautiful crosses at the Maskell cemetery. Recently Clem assisted Regie Cook in the construction of his own casket made from wood found locally. He didn’t look at death as the end, he looked forward to seeing his Heavenly Father and the loved ones who have gone on before him. Clem is survived by daughter, Christine Peterson (Ponca); grandchildren Jordan and Jaci Peterson (Ponca), and Brittni Staben & her children Logan, Cameron, and Jayden (Sgt. Bluff Iowa); life partner, Marjorie Eledge (Newcastle); brother, Lionel (Chris) Bostwick (Ponca); sisters Cleo Waters (Irene, SD) and Trudy (Rick) Pinkelman (Maskell); numerous nieces and nephews; and a multitude of friends. May his memory be blessed. Clem was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Sheryl; brothers Clyde Bostwick and Roger Bostwick; sisters-in-law Nancy, Bonnie, and Sharon; and brother-in-law Ray Waters.
