Claudia was born October 17, 1949 in Minden, Nebraska to Roy Jr. and Jo Ann (Hogeland) Richter.  She graduated from Bloomington High School in Bloomington, NE in 1967 and then attended the Grand Island School of Business where she graduated in 1968.  On August 25, 1968, Claudia married Richard “Dick” Maska in Marquette, NE.  They lived in Salina, KS and then Grand Island, NE before moving to Yankton in 1980.  Claudia ran an in-home daycare for several years and also worked at Gurney’s Seed and Nursery.  She then became a receptionist where she did clerical work for Lewis and Clark Behavioral Health for close to 20 years until she retired.

Claudia loved cheering for the Nebraska Cornhuskers and fishing with her husband, Dick. She enjoyed bowling and playing volleyball in her younger years. She also enjoyed crafting and made many different collectables for herself and her family.   Claudia was very social and hospitable and was always up for hosting a party.  She also loved baking for her family.  Claudia was so selfless and always made sure everyone else was taken care of.  She will be greatly missed.
