Bryn Eilene Van Osdel, infant daughter of Brandon and Morgan (Frick) Van Osdel, died on April 10, 2026, at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Funeral services will be at 3:30 PM, on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Gayville Lutheran Church in Gayville, South Dakota with Reverend David Bentz officiating. A private family burial will take place following the service at Mission Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends starting at 3:00 PM until the service time on Saturday. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Yankton.
Bryn was born at 36 weeks on April 10, 2026, welcomed into this world with overwhelming love, and left it cradled in her parents’ arms just 35 minutes later as she gently ran into the arms of our Lord Jesus. She was born with a fatal heart defect discovered at 18 weeks gestation and defied many odds to arrive full term. Bryn was baptized shortly after birth and spent her brief life wrapped in her parents’ arms, knowing only love.
Bryn was a fighter from the very beginning and was determined to meet her mom and dad, who are forever grateful for the precious gift of her life. She was lovingly welcomed home to heaven, where she is now safe, whole, and dancing in the arms of Jesus.
The family is deeply grateful to the incredible medical teams who walked alongside them, including the Prism Team at Sanford and nurses Izabel, April, Maddie, and Darla.
Survivors include her parents, Brandon and Morgan Van Osdel; big sister, Bergen of Gayville, SD; grandparents, Barry and Janine Van Osdel of Mission Hill, SD and Chris and Jodie Frick of Yankton, SD; great-grandparents, Gary Boetel of Lake Andes, SD, and Jack Frick of Yankton; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Bryn was preceded in death by great-grandparents: Ben and Eilene Van Osdel, Shari Boetel, Delwyn and Louise Olson, Pam Frick; and great-uncle, Jamie Boetel.
