Blanche Marie McCart

Blanche Marie McCart, age 65 of Laurel, Nebraska died on Friday, March 27, 2026 at her residence.

A Celebration of Life service will be on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington with the Rev. Todd Thelen officiating. Burial will be at the Coleridge City Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday morning from 9-10:30 a.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington.

Pallbearers will be Ed Nordby, Eric Nordby, Elliott Nordby, Don Graham, and Sam McCart.

Honorary pallbearers will be Everett Nordby and Laura Wooster.

Blanche Marie was born on July 5, 1960 in Omaha, Nebraska to Glen and Anita (Timm) McCart. She graduated from Coleridge High School and then lived in Wayne working various jobs. Blanche then worked for many years for Wallbaum’s Dry Egg Department in Wakefield, NE.

Blanche loved her friends and traveled to see them often. She loved to play cards and games. She enjoyed Holidays with family and friends and singing to you over the phone. Blanche was a great friend to many and will be greatly missed.

Blanche is survived by her significant other Doug Singer of Laurel; sister Sharon (Keith) Graham of Winfield, KS; brother Floyd McCart of Coleridge; nephews Everett (Flora) Nordby of Colorado Springs, CO, Ed (Mary) Nordby of Ewing, NE, Eric Nordby of Springfield, NE, Elliott (Kim) Nordby of Norfolk, Don (Carrie) Graham of Valentine, Chris (April) Graham of Winfield, KS, Sam (Amanda) McCart of Omaha, a niece Laura (Ken) Wooster of Cheyenne, WY; cousin Janice Lind of Omaha; and many more family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Glen and Anita McCart, grandparents Everett McCart and Faye Leland, Otto & LaVena Timm; uncle Willard Leland; sister and brother-in-law Louise and Larry Nordby; brother & sister-in-law Larry (Janice) McCart; and niece Eva Pederson.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to Security Bank to help with funeral expenses. Funds will go directly to Wintz Funeral Home.
