Beverly L. Brodersen, age 85 of Coleridge, Nebraska died on Sunday, March 04, 2018 at Park View Haven Nursing Home in Coleridge, NE. Funeral Services will be on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Coleridge, Nebraska with the Rev. Russ Lambert officiating. Burial will be at the Lawn Ridge Cemetery in Coleridge. Visitation will be on Thursday, at church, from 5-8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday morning one hour prior to services. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Coleridge. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren: Evan Brodersen, Emily Brodersen, Andrea Mulry, Laura Brodersen, Alex Brodersen, Aaron Brodersen, Kevin Brodersen, and Anna Brodersen. Beverly Luree was the daughter of and Raymond and Alfrieda (Tramp) Christiansen born on May 2, 1932 in Hartington, NE. Beverly grew up in the Hartington area, attended one-room country grade schools of Rose Hill and Hillcot. She graduated from Hartington High School in 1948. She attended Wayne State College to complete her teacher’s certificate and taught in Sunny Brook one-room-school. On June 15, 1950, she married Oran Laverl Brodersen, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Coleridge, NE, where they were life-long members. Oran and Beverly farmed in the Coleridge area their entire lives. Their union was blessed with three sons, Dennis, Ronnie, and Bruce. Beverly enjoyed square dancing, bowling and gardening and made many friendships through these interests. The highlight of her later years was her grandchildren. She had a special, individual relationship with each one. She was a charter member of the Nightengale's Extension and Social Club in 1958, which still exists today. She was the first woman to serve on her church council, as council secretary. She attended many church conventions (many times as a delegate) and taught Sunday school and Bible school for several years. She was also an officer in the Immanuel Lutheran Church Women organization. She lived continuously on the same farm for 66 years from the time of her marriage until illness forced her to leave it in 2017. Survivors include sons: Dr. Ronnie and Joan (Lauer) Brodersen, Hartington, NE; and Dr. Bruce and Joan (Pfund) Brodersen, Lincoln, NE; daughter-in-law Susan (Nelsen) Brodersen, Coleridge, NE; Eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren: Evan Brodersen, Coleridge NE and fiancee Katherine McDermott; Andrea and Tim Mulry and their son, Guy, of St. Paul, MN; Alex and Katherine Brodersen of South Bend, IN; Aaron and Emily Brodersen, Lincoln, NE; Anna Brodersen of Lincoln, NE; Emily Brodersen and John Kohtz and their son, Benjamin, Lincoln, NE; Laura Brodersen, Austin, TX; and Kevin Brodersen, Lincoln NE. Sisters in law: Marilyn Hansen of Hartington, NE, and Sally Tramp of Yankton, SD. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Oran on January 8, 1993, and her son, Dennis on Nov. 10, 2017, her parents, parents-in-law Jens and Sadie (Lentz) Brodersen, and brother Donald Tramp.
