Betty E. Heitman, age 94 of Coleridge, Nebraska died on Friday, March 30, 2018 at Park View Haven Nursing Home in Coleridge. Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Coleridge with the Rev. Russ Lambert officiating. Burial will be at the Lawn Ridge Cemetery in Coleridge. Visitation will be on Tuesday morning, at church, from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Coleridge. Pallbearers will be Dakota Heitman, Brady Heitman, Kobe Heitman, Boyd Janssen, Larry Janssen, and Steve Nordby. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Hansen and Cole Heitman. Betty Ellen Heitman was born on January 13, 1924 in Hartington, Nebraska to Irvin and Mabel (Carlson) Dewey. Betty graduated from Coleridge High School in 1941. She married Donald Heitman on August 14, 1947 in the Lutheran Parsonage in Coleridge. Betty worked at the Coleridge Bank for 25 years. She played the organ at the nursing home for over 30 years and also at the Embers Assisted Living, and Randolph nursing home. Betty was a member of Immanuel Lutheran and held offices in the Ladies Aide. She and Don loved to dance. Betty is survived by her husband Donald; son Dennis Heitman & fiancee Lisa Schlumbohm of Coleridge; six grandchildren; three step grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; maternal nieces and nephews Jean Fitch and husband John Justice of Belle Vista, AR, Van Fitch of Wisconsin, Rev. Russell & wife Janiece Sizemore of Wahoo, NE, Sandra and Mike Carroll of Omaha; Kim Fitch and husband Rev. Paul Bud of Independence, MO. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Leila (Tibbie) Fitch and Shirley Sizemore.
